One Student, One Vision: Why I’m Creating Tutorloo

Hey everyone! I’m just a regular student like you, juggling classes, assignments, and late-night study sessions fueled by way too much coffee. The idea for Tutorloo came from my own struggles at the University of Waterloo. There were times I felt completely stuck—like, “What even is this course content?” kind of stuck. I realized what I needed wasn’t just a textbook or a random online video. I needed someone who got it—someone who had already been through the same course, tackled the same assignments, and could break things down in a way that made sense. That’s when I thought, why isn’t there an easy way for students to connect with each other for tutoring?

So here I am, a one-person team (for now at least) trying to make Tutorloo a reality. I’m building this app because I believe in the power of community—of students helping students. It’s not some big company or fancy startup behind this; it’s just me, trying to solve a problem I know we all face. I’m still learning as I go (shoutout to all the YouTube tutorials and late-night brainstorming sessions), but I’m committed to making this happen for our Waterloo community. If you believe in this idea as much as I do, join the waitlist and be part of something that’s truly made by students, for students. Together, we can build something awesome!
